With the advancement of technology and the ever growing industries of all kinds, there is no denying that the amount of waste has also increased and a lot of these are in the form of sludge. Treatment of such waste can be difficult but the separation of the solids from the liquid in the sludge has been known to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the whole process.

 

Every problem faced by our customers is unique. The uniqueness and specificity prompted us to create methods that can be flexible to answering every challenge that exists. Geoteknika Adhiyasa is here to answer the uniqueness of the problems faced by our customers with the d-sludge system method. This system allows us to identify the problems of each customer, analyze, and deliver solutions to customers so that the problem can be solved together.

d-sludge tube dewatering system is a synergy between specially engineered textile designed for dewatering geosynthetic containment units, mechanical pumping process, and chemical material to provide the most effective and efficient solution for sludge problems.

 

Dewatering with d-sludge tube dewatering system follows the following process: the containers are supplied to the project site and placed into position. Sludge, which is treated with special polymers, is then pumped into the containers and the clear effluent water is then drained leaving the solid remains within the container. When full, the containers can be disposed at a landfill or the solids removed and used elsewhere.

 

The process of separating the solids and the liquid through d-sludge tubes and bags brings a few benefits, some of which are:

​– Reduction in volume of the waste to be contained in ponds (up to 5 times)
– Reduction in BOD, COD, & TSS due to the filtration during the process
– Increased effectiveness and efficiency of current waste treatment process
– High capacity processing compared to mechanical presses
– Solids can be transported easier and may have additional value

We have discovered an accelerated method for sludge drying called d-sludge vds, this method is an integrated sludge suspension waste handling system between geosynthetic, polymer, and vacuum technology designed to accelerate the separation of solid particles with water. There are 2 (two) stages of the process:

​

  1. Conditioning sludge suspension 
    Sludge waste naturally has hydrophilic properties, namely solid particles bind water, therefore the separation of water from solids is hampered by this hydrophilic property. Conditioning the properties of sludge as an initial step is to change the hydrophilic properties to hydrophobic by using the necessary chemicals where solid particles bind to other solids and release water bonds.

  2. Separation and Filtration
    The solid filtration process occurs and is squeezed based on the pressure difference created by the vacuum pressure due to the vacuum system which provides a relative negative pressure below 1 atmosphere so that water flows to the vacuum distribution media which has a lower pressure, this flow process water particles are directed to pass through the filtration media so that the effluent water is clearer and separated from the solids left in the pond.

The combination of geosynthetics and polymers provides cost efficiency and effectiveness in accelerating sludge drying results according to customer needs.

d-sludge tube dewatering system helps you to dewater containment in the coal mining and mineral processing industry effectively and efficiently. The system can be applied for materials such as coal sludge and mineral tailings. The system helps you recover valuable materials, improves water quality, and increase ponds capacity. Flocculation process needs polymers to improve dewatering rates, solids retention, and increase solids consolidation within the d-sludge tube.
